Meet Frederick

So we bought a new car. Okay, not new, but it's definitely the newest car I've ever owned. Since we name our cars, meet Frederick:
We decided that he had to be a male because he's charcoal colored. Many of you know that Pmc and I met in Frederick, MD. So we've talked for a while about giving the name Frederick to one of our kids but just weren't convinced. So this was our opportune time to use the name. We hope Freddie (yes he has a nickname) will treat us well for many years to come.

It was not easy to decide upon a make/model/price for our car together, we had many different opinions. But in the end we're both at peace and hope Fred (or two nicknames) will be a blessing.

Anyway, I don't have much time tonight. But I will say that I'm excited to announce that we made some big plans for keeping up with the blog. We both really want to get a blog post in every week because we feel like we miss recording the little things if we don't. Pmc has had a hard time balancing his schedule lately, but we think we have it under wraps finally....so hopefully next week we'll be back to our original methods....posting together.

The past couple weeks have been slightly eventful. Cpc's second tooth broke through, and it seems to reallllllly be helping with his whining. I was starting to just think I had a whiney child. Nope, he's back to his happy self! I haven't really tried to get any pictures of the actual teeth, because I assume it's impossible, but here's him brushing his teeth, which he LOVES to do!
He is also still THRILLED with water. His new favorite is sitting on his dad's shoulders in the shower so he can play with the shower-head and try to climb on it.
Last Sunday I was hoping we would get one more big snowstorm so that I could take Cpc out in his snowsuit one time before spring hit. Well, I had to wait 'til Thursday, but I got my wish. He TOTALLY loved eating the snow. He liked crawling in it at first, until he realized he couldn't move very well in his big snowsuit and faceplanted several times.

Total playtime in the snow=3 minutes. I didn't even get time to build a mini-snowman!
Most people tell us that Cpc looks just like me. I think so most of the time too. But I think he looks just like Pmc here:
So that's all this week. I know I thought of a thousand things that I wanted to write down to remember the past two weeks, but they are all gone now! ARGH!

The song is the one that Pmc told me he was wanting to put on this week. Classic favorite for us for sure!

WAIT!!! I LIED!!! I remembered a couple things I HAVE TO RECORD!!! Lately Cpc has become very adept at making the gurgling sound in the back of his throat, it's adorable. We still can't get him to do it on command. Pmc also taught him to kick bouncey balls, which he picked up on VERY quickly. He can walk holding onto only one finger with one hand, which is the skill that he proudly parades for all who will watch. He has started to laugh at things with a "Ha, Ha, Ha" with pauses in between each "Ha." He had his 9 month check-up and is officially 28.5 inches long, and 18.5 pounds. He is VERY adept at feeding himself anything and everything, except when it comes to his sippy cup. He sat in his high chair with his sippy cup on his tray this week, and would not use his hands, but tried desperately to get some nourishment from it for a full 2 minutes. Then he got frustrated and reached around it to grab a bit of hot dog and put it in his mouth. Last but not least he got his very first "Father and son" outing this week, while I got some much needed dusting, ironing and sewing done. I am so grateful for a husband who will do this. I felt so refreshed after doing housework for a solid 3 hours, go figure!

Cute car guys! I'm glad the teething is getting better--I had to share this link too. A bunch of moms here have these little amber necklaces for their babies to wear, and they swear they totally help. I almost want another baby just to try it out! So . . . if you have any more teething sadness, check this out! http://www.amber-teething-necklace.com/
